So, what is actually meant by the word 'metabolism'?
Metabolism is the total of all chemical processes that occur within a living organism in order to maintain life. All of these chemical transactions in the body leading up to, but not including, the spontaneous production (respiratory burst) of energy, are executed by a vast array of enzymes.

Q Is N-Sorb a digestive enzyme product?
A Not really. While it does "Boost Metabolism and Support Digestion", it does so by gaining rapid access to the blood and the body's more than 372 trillion cells. It does contain enzymes that have the same name as most digestive enzymes. But, these enzymes are most active and beneficial in a more alkaline pH than the acidic environment of the stomach.
Q There are a lot of enzyme products on the market that contain the same or similar protease, amylase, lipase, etc. types of enzymes. What makes N-Sorb's Diet Essential enzymes so different?
A Most of these types of enzymes are designated as 'digestive enzymes' because they are targeted at acting on, (i.e. disintegrating and disolving) foods containing proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, etc., primarily in the acidic pH of the stomach. N-Sorb's Diet Essential enzymes are targeted at working in more alkaline pH tissues. Q What happens if I don't take N-Sorb on an empty stomach?
A There is no harm in taking N-Sorb with food. However, the enzymatic action in the stomach will not be as aggressive as if taking a 'digestive enzyme'. Digestive enzymes are generally activated in a stomach pH between 2 and 5.5. N-Sorb's enzymes are activated at pH levels between 6.5 and 8.5; much more alkaline...like the blood and tissues. Therefore, the metabolism-boosting effects of N-Sorb could be diminished and, while some of the enzymes could be used up in the digestive process, many of enzymes will most likely pass intact through to the intestines where additional enzymatic activity could occur.
Q How should N-Sorb be stored?
